NATALIE BRCAR

Director

Natalie has over 15 years experience in the architectural industry. Prior to co-founding Brcar Morony Architecture, Natalie spent most of her career working on residential projects of varying size for some of the leading multi award winning design firms in Sydney including Tzannes Associates and MCK Architects.

Whilst working at MCK Architects Natalie was involved on a number of high end residential projects at various stages and was the project leader for Q House, Honiton House, Black House and House Acute.

Natalie involves herself in all stages of a project from schematic design through to site and construction administration. She works closely with clients and consultants to resolve the spatial planning and functional brief requirements, managing project deadlines and budget while also exploring ideas of volume, materiality and light with the final intent being a beautifully crafted project.

Over the last 15 years Natalie has developed a sound understanding of materials and knowledge of specialist contractors and suppliers and backs up her designs with the experience of how to detail and deliver the realised design. The knowledge of specialist furniture and fittings suppliers allows her to be able to provide the full design service down to loose furniture and soft furnishings selections to compliment the architectural project.

Natalie is a registered architect with the NSW Architects Registration Board.

Natalie is currently tutoring part time Architectural Technologies in the Bachelor of Design degree at the University of Sydney.

MICHAEL MORONY

Director

Michael has over 15 years experience in the architectural profession. Over this time Michael was responsible for delivering a variety of projects ranging from minor alterations and additions to residential properties to multi million dollar commercial and retail developments. Prior to co-founding Brcar Morony Architecture, Michael worked for some of the leading architectural and development practices in Australia including Lippmann Partnership and Mirvac. Michael still holds the position of Senior Associate at The Buchan Group, an international design firm ranked in the top 10 practices in Australia and top 100 practices in the world.

Over the last 15 years Michael has delivered over 200,000 Sqm of retail and commercial floor area for leading developers such as Lend Lease, Stockland, Mirvac, and QIC with a construction value exceeding one billion dollars.

To deliver these projects Michael manages architectural teams of up to 15 architects and coordinates the input of up to 20 consultants ranging from structural and civil engineers, services engineers, specialist acoustic, wind, lighting, fire and traffic consultants and others disciplines.

Whilst his work has more typically seen him involved with large commercial developments, Michael has a passion for the small details that can define a project or make a place great. Michael enjoys working on residential projects whenever he can where this detailed attitude is realised more intimately. The experience gained in collaborating with many consultants on the large projects is carried through to the small projects where a close working relationship is developed with the client and necessary consultants to deliver the projects to the highest standard.
